Director: Health Standards System, Data Analysis and Research (Ref #: OHSC 02/2017)

Salary: An all-inclusive remuneration package of R898 743 per annum (basic salary consisting of 70% of the total package with the equivalent of the State’s contribution to the GEPF (13% of basic salary). The flexible portion of the package can be structured according to OHSC guidelines

Requirements:

  • A Bachelors degree in Epidemiology, Public Health or Statistics
  • A degree in Biostatics will serve as an added advantage
  • A relevant Masters degree or PhD will also serve as an added advantage
  • A minimum of 8 years experience in data analysis and statistics of which 3 years must have been at a middle management level
  • Experience in managing research, monitoring and evaluation or epidemiology and/or in healthcare risk measurement and profiling would serve as an added advantage
  • A valid driver’s licence.

Duties:

  • Develop and implement a health information framework for data collection analysis and report on health standards
  • Manage the health establishments register, database and co-ordination of health standards research
  • Manage early warning system, collection, collation, analysis and interpretation of information of health establishment performance and risks
  • Manage the collection, collation, analysis and interpretation of reports on health establishments compliance and complaints
  • Analyse health system information and key challenges
  • Manage health system information, knowledge and business intelligence sharing regarding compliance with the standards and issuing of recommendations
  • General management of staff and resources
  • Manage risk and audit queries in the area of work
