Director: Governance, Strategy and Board Secretariat (Ref #: OHSC 01/2017)

Salary: An all-inclusive remuneration package of R898 743 - R1 058 691 per annum (basic salary consisting of 70% of the total package with the equivalent of the State’s contribution to the GEPF (13% of basic salary). The flexible portion of the package can be structured according to OHSC guidelines

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Governance, Business Management or a related field
  • An additional qualification related to Company Secretariat, Public Administration or Strategy, Planning and Monitoring and Evaluation will be an advantage
  • Registration with the Chartered Secretaries of Southern Africa (CSSA) is preferred
  • At least 8 years experience in governance, strategy and secretariat services of which 5 years must have been at a middle management level
  • Experience must include provision of Board support
  • Experience with providing Board support within a regulatory environment or entity in the health sector will be an added advantage
  • Experience in providing Board support within a regulatory environment or entity in the health sector will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of business administration, compliance management, corporate governance and the King IV Report, drafting of agreements, policy management, public entity administration, risk and audit framework management and strategic planning
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • A valid driver’s licence.

Duties:

  • Manage and provide secretariat services and administrative support to the OHSC Board and

    Committees

  • Develop and ensure the application of a framework for legal and regulatory compliance

    across the OHSC

  • Ensure that the legal and reputational risk of the OHSC is mitigated and controlled

  • Manage the development and implementation of the Strategic Plan and Annual Performance Plan of the

    OHSC

  • Ensure that the OHSC’s strategy and business objectives and activities are aligned, recorded,

    up to date and maintained

  • Manage human resources, financial and procurement plans and processes

    within the unit

  • Manage and develop monitoring and evaluation framework

  • Coordinate the internal and

    external audit activities

  • Manage and facilitate annual report process.
