Deputy Director: Specialised Inspections (Ref #: OHSC 06/2017)

Salary: An all-inclusive remuneration package of R779 295 per annum (basic salary consisting of 70% or 76% of the total package, the State's contribution to Government Employees Pension Fund [13% of basic salary] and a flexible portion). The flexible portion of the package can be structured according to OHSC guidelines

Requirements:

  • A Degree or Diploma in the Health Sciences field
  • Current registration with the relevant body / council
  • Direct patient care experience
  • Computer literacy
  • A post basic qualification in Quality Management would be an advantage
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in management within a health establishment on a junior management or equivalent level
  • 3 – 5 years experience in the measurement and implementation of National Core Standards for health establishments and/or in the use of health information for planning would be an added advantage
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Must be prepared to travel extensively and very frequently and will be required to undergo training and accreditation as an inspector
  • A valid driver’s licence.

Duties:

  • Contribute to the planning and preparation for all inspections including specialised inspection visits with a focus on health establishments offering complex or specialised care and those found to be at high risk or persistently non-compliant
  • Conduct all inspections including specialised inspections of health establishments with a focus on general requirements, procedures and systems
  • Provide correct and complete reports and recommendations on inspections conducted
  • Assist in reviewing and training on strategies and systems for the compliance inspections and ensuring the implementation thereof
  • Comply with requirements for effective and efficient use and management of resources
  • Any other reasonable activities
