DEPUTY DIRECTOR: HEALTH STANDARDS INSPECTOR TRAINING (Ref #: (Ref No.: OHSC 11/2019))

Salary: An all-inclusive salary package of R869 007 per annum (basic salary consists of 70% or 76% of the total package, State’s contribution to the Government Employees Pension Fund [13% of basic salary] and a flexible portion). The flexible portion can be structured according to OHSC guidelines.

Requirements:

•A Bachelor’s degree or three year National diploma in a Health Sciences field and a qualification in Health Education, Training and Development

•Current registration with the relevant professional body/council

•A post-graduate qualification in Public Health, Policy, Law, Health Services Management or a related field would be an advantage

•At least 5 years experience in healthcare education, of which 3 years should have been at a junior management level

•Experience in health standards development or regulatory field will be an advantage. Skills required: •Computer literacy (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), report writing, problem-solving, decision-making skills, communication, and conflict resolution

•A valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage.

Duties:

•Develop, review and manage the framework and strategy for health standards inspector training, including monitoring and evaluation of training performance

•Manage the capacity development and certification of OHSC Inspectors

•Manage the capacity development of OHSC Complaints Assessors and Investigators

•Manage the training of external stakeholders and the provision of ongoing guidance and support for the implementation of the regulations

•Development and review of training materials to support understanding of the Regulations and inspection tools and facilitate the implementation of the regulations by health establishments

•Manage relationships with other organisations to facilitate the sharing of health standards information

•Assist in the development of inspection tools, writing of reports and research activities

•The role includes extensive travel.
