Deputy Director: Document Management and Operations (IT) (Ref #: OHSC 1/2021)

Salary: An all-inclusive salary package of R869 007 per annum (basic salary consists of 70% or 76% of the total package, OHSC contribution to the Government Employee Pension Fund (13% of basic salary) and a flexible portion). The flexible portion can be structured according to OHSC guidelines.

Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree or B Tech in Information and Communication Technology.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of document management and ICT infrastructure management on a junior management level.

Experience must include the administering of the full Microsoft products and MSSQL as well as the deployment and troubleshooting of SharePoint to meet user requirements.

Experience in managing ICT projects/operations will be an advantage. Understanding of ICT network

infrastructure and operations support services,knowledge of Public Service legislation, Strategies, ICT

Governance frameworks and policies as well as Microsoft SharePoint training and certification would be highly desirable.

Skills:  Problem-solving, decision making, communication (written and verbal) and conflict resolution.

Willingness to work outside normal working hours.

A valid driver’s license.

Duties:

Consult with end users regarding problems in accessing electronic content and provide tools and manuals to search electronic sources, such as databases or repositories, or manual sources for information.

Conduct needs assessments to identify document management requirements of departments or end users and propose recommendations for improving content management system capabilities.

Management of the ICT operations, business applications portfolio including Microsoft 365(ie: SharePoint, MS Teams, MS Exchange) and Information Systems development.

Acquiring/Procurement and distribution of WAN and LAN ICT network infrastructure and operations support services.

Network management, i.e. planning, designing, implementation, active directory user accounts management, ICT Infrastructure Performance & Capacity management, ICT Security, Management of ICT network infrastructure Projects and Incidents including ICT network infrastructure.

Coordinate and assist in administering the installation and maintenance of the ICT infrastructure.

Coordinate and assist to administer the provision of ICT server support to the OHSC employees and external users.

Responsible for assisting in the oversight of day-to-day operations of staff to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of systems and services to OHSC employees.
