Chief Operations Officer (Ref #: OHSC 18/2022)
Salary: An all-inclusive salary package of R 1, 544 415 per annum (basic salary consists of 70% of the total package, OHSC’s contribution to the Government Employee Pension Fund (13% of basic salary) and a flexible portion). The flexible portion can be structured according to OHSC guidelines.
Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in medicine, pharmacy, nursing or any other health related degree.
A master’s in health sciences (NQF 9) is also required.
A post-graduate qualification in management would be an advantage.
Registration with the relevant council/body (SANC, HPCSA, SAPC, etc).
At least fifteen (15) years’ experience in the health care environment, of which five (5) years should have been at an executive management level.
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the health care delivery and health policy in South Africa.
Good analytical and conceptual skills.
Good decision-making skills, Excellent management, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Strong report-writing, presentation and communication skills.
A valid driver’s license.
Duties:
Development and implementation of strategies towards supporting the implementation of the OHSC mandate, vision, mission and objectives.
Ensure effective and efficient functioning and implementation of OHSC operations and technical programmes: Corporate Services, Compliance Inspectorate, Health Standards Design, Analysis and Support, Complaints and Investigations.
Ensure efficient linkages between the inspection function and Certification and Enforcement.
Develop implementing strategies and procedures to enhance OHSC growth.
Develop and guide OHSC workflow strategies and business processes.
Work with the Executive team and managers to determine and implement OHSC performance goals.
Foster inter-departmental collaboration and effective communication on operational activities.
Work with the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Financial Officer on matters related to OHSC operations.
