Assistant Director: Network Administrator (OHSC 5/2021) (Ref #: OHSC 5/2021)

Salary: R470 040 (plus applicable benefits)

Requirements:

  • A three year Bachelor’s degree/National Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • Network certification in Cisco would be an advantage.
  • At least 3 year’s experience in Local Area Network (LAN), Wider Area Network (WAN), and Firewall administration (Palo Alto).
  • Experience must also include network management and monitoring tools, WAN and bandwidth optimisation, and telephony management i.e. PABX and VOIP and Firewall.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting for WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, unified communications.
  • Problem-solving and conflict handling skills.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Duties:

  • Design, deploy and maintain LAN, WAN, Firewall and telephony systems.
  • Implement and manage network security e.g. Firewall.
  • Administer and manage shared resources e.g. netowrk printers.
  • Manage the domain controller.
  • Manage and maintain virus protection software to keep data and communications protected.
  • Manage, maintain and test backups of systems and WAN redundancy.
  • Monitor and maintain network performance and report on uptimes of system on monthly basis.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to users on all technologies and applications.
  • Compile manuals and procedures for various applications.
