Assistant Director: Finance and Accounting (Ref #: OHSC 9/2021)

Salary: Salary: R 470 040 per annum (plus applicable benefits)

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree/National Diploma in Financial Management or Accounting.

At least 5 years’ experience in financial management or accounting of which 3 years should have been in a supervisory capacity.

Completed articles will be an added advantage.

Experience must include preparation of financial statements, compilation of budgets, and expenditure control.

Experience in Sage Evolution, Microsoft Excel and Caseware is essential.

Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act and Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP).

Good communication skills. Computer and report writing skills.

A valid driver’s licence.

Duties:

Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts, as well as annual
financial statements.

• Contribute to the compilation of OHSC’s budget plans.

• Manage accounts payable processes and creditors administration

• Completion of all the National Treasury’s quarterly and annual templates and databases

• Implement internal controls in the Finance unit

• Full management of the general ledger. Processing of financial transactions and information on the system

• Monthly reconciliation of asset register to the general ledger.

Management of designated staff and performance assessments

• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Contribute to development of finance standard operating procedures.
